As per University regulation, the academic year commences in the month of July and ends in the month of June the following year.

The college provides clinical facilities in Dentistry in the following departments:

  • Oral Medicine and Radiology
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
  • Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics
  • Periodontics
  • Orthodontics
  • Public Health Dentistry
  • Paedodontics

The college has approved Postgraduate courses (MDS) in the following eight specialities:

  • Oral Medicine and Radiology
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
  • Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics
  • Periodontics
  • Orthodontics
  • Public Health Dentistry
  • Paedodontics

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
Each year is divided into two terms. There will be an examination at the end of each academic year (2nd term). Every student of the BDS degree course is required to pass four professional examinations at the end of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th academic year.

A candidate is eligible to attend the University examination on satisfying attendance, progress and proper conduct stipulated by the college and the University. A candidate who fails in the exam can appear in the next examination (supplementary) to be held six months later ie., at the end of the first term.

INTERNAL EXAMINATION
The college will conduct a set of three internal examinations during the course of each academic year. A final internal examination (theory & pre-clinical / clinical) will be held at the end of the academic year before the University examination. A candidate must acquire a minimum of 50% marks in each of the internal examinations. The average of the four conducted exams will be sent to the University as the internal marks for each subject.

  • General Anatomy including Embryology and Histology
  • General Human Physiology and Biochemistry
  • Human Oral Anatomy, Histology and Embryology

 

 

2nd BDS
  • General Pathology and Microbiology
  • Dental Materials
  • General and Dental Pharmacology and Therapeutics
  • Pre-clinical Prosthetic Dentistry
  • Pre-clinical Operative Dentistry
3rd BDS
  • General Medicine
  • General Surgery
